Are the modern antihistamines safe for driving?

Explanation

The antihistamines currently used to treat allergies in vehicle drivers are safer than those used years ago because they offer far fewer side effects such as drowsiness or reduced responsiveness.

The use of antihistamines does not prevent or impede driving, but we should always inform our doctor that we are going to drive a vehicle so that he/she can warn us of the possible negative side effects.
