If, after the warning from the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system, the driver does not react, which system will keep us in the lane?

After LDW (Lane Departure Warning) alerts the driver and there’s no reaction, the system that can actively help keep the vehicle within its lane is LKA (Lane Keeping Assist): it applies gentle steering and/or selective braking to guide the car back toward the lane centre.

  • Function: detects drift over lane lines and provides corrective input (driver remains responsible).
  • Works best when: lane markings are visible; effectiveness drops with worn paint, heavy rain, or glare.
  • Not RCTA: Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns of lateral traffic when reversing from parking.
  • Not SLI: Speed Limit Info reads speed-limit signs; it doesn’t steer or keep lane.
