What must a driver do when wishing to enter traffic?
When merging into traffic on a road we must take into account these two rules:
- Observe the traffic and check that the maneuver can be performed: Before starting a maneuver we must make sure that it can be performed safely by observing directly or through the rear-view mirrors.
- Warn the other road users of the intention to perform the maneuver: The driver must warn his intentions clearly, with sufficient time in advance and using light signals as a general rule or possibly with his arm.
