Who has right of way when changing lane in the same direction?

The driver of a vehicle that intends to turn right or left to use a lane other than the one on which it is traveling, to take another lane on the same road or to leave it, must give prior warning.

In addition, any lateral displacement maneuver involving a lane change shall be carried out respecting the priority of the vehicle in the lane to be occupied, so that the vehicle already in that lane shall have the right of way.
